In 1974, the Mollie E. Webb Speech and Hearing Center at Louisiana State University was established by the Caddo Foundation for Exceptional Children with funding from the Junior League of Shreveport, the United Way and other community agencies. The Center operates in the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences of LSU Health Sciences Center's School of Allied Health Professions.

Hearing care services
The Mollie E. Webb Speech and Hearing Center at LSU offers hearing testing services by nationally-certified and state licensed audiologist for infants, children and adults of all ages. We offer hearing aids from several manufacturers in a variety of styles, including computer-programmed digital hearing aids.
Our hearing health services include:
- hearing testing for all ages, from infants to senior citizens
- hearing aid evaluation, selection, fitting, follow-up care and services
- hearing aid sales and dispensing
- therapy for people with hearing loss
- custom swimming earplugs, hearing protection earplugs and musician's earplugs
