“Kathy W, I understand that is can be frustrating when a problem goes unresolved, especially when a family member is visiting from out of town. Our drop off service, is for established patients of our practice. We are happy to see new patients from other facilities but in order to provide quality care, we require an initial office visit. The visit allows us to meet the patient, obtain needed records in order to be able to program the device, and be available to our patients to answer questions and provide instructions on care and cleaning if needed. The reason we charge for this visit for outside patients, is because we set aside 30 minutes of our schedule to provide all necessary services. The office fee does not apply to patients who have purchased their hearing aids through our practice as this service is included in the purchase price. In the future, should need arise for our services, please reach out to your audiologist directly, to discuss your needs to determine the best method to resolve the problem.
