Erika joined our team of professionals in October 2015 and has enjoyed providing better hearing to our wonderful patients. Erika enjoyed a 20-year career with Starkey Hearing Technologies traveling and exploring several aspects of the hearing healthcare industry while gaining experience utilizing the latest technology in hearing aids and devices. She is also on the Board of Directors for the Texas Hearing Aid Association.

“From the moment I entered the office I was greeted with professional, friendly staff. The receptionists gathered the information they needed from me as they spoke clearly and made eye contact with me. As a hearing impaired person, that is a much appreciated action. I depend on reading lips, so this made it much easier for me to converse with them. Then I met Erika Vela and was put at ease immediately because she interacted the same way. She explained the different aids I was able to get with my insurance. She was courteous and did not try to rush me in any way to make a decision. I am truly thankful to have had the opportunity to deal with this company. ”

“I was a walk-in with a broken hearing aid. It was purchased at a different company in a different city. It is still within the mfr's warranty period. “I have had two episodes of my new hearing aids failing to work properly. Erika got me right into the office and took action to make them work properly. Parts were need once which she ordered and one hearing aid went completely out. She had a new on in and setup in 5 days. ”

“I choose Heart of Texas because they were involved with my Humana insurance. They gave me a great deal on my aids. However, the aids I was offered could not correct my severe hearing loss and had to be returned. All through the process, they were always patient, courteous and professional. They were able to work with me and find the aids that handled my loss even though they weren’t covered on my insurance. I would strongly recommend them for anyone seeking to improve their hearing.”
